Sessy AI — usage, credits, and BYOK
Configure in-app Sessy AI: platform queries, credit packs, Bring Your Own Key (Opper), model choice, privacy, and compliance.
Open Configuration → Sessy AI in the admin app. This single section covers how your gym uses AI inside Sessy: monthly usage, optional credit packs, your own Opper account (BYOK), and external MCP access.
Like all Sessy functionality, Sessy AI is included in your license fee — there is no extra charge for basic usage. Because heavy AI use can be expensive and we want to keep our prices as low as possible, there is a monthly limit on included in-app queries. If you need more, you can buy credit packs through Sessy. You can also bring your own AI (BYOK) and use it inside Sessy, giving you full control over cost, where data is processed, and which models you use.
The in-app assistant (chat in the Sessy app) is separate from external AI agents connected via MCP tokens.

1. How Sessy AI billing works
Platform mode (default)
Sessy hosts the AI for your gym. Each month you receive an included allowance of in-app assistant queries. When that allowance is used up, the assistant can still run if you have purchased credit packs (see below).
Usage is shown at the top of Configuration → Sessy AI → Usage.
BYOK mode
When Bring your own key from Opper is enabled, queries run through your Opper account and billing. Platform included queries and credit packs no longer apply to in-app AI — you pay Opper directly.
You can switch back to platform mode at any time by disabling BYOK in the same section.
2. Buy query credits
Credit packs are one-time purchases that add bonus queries on top of your monthly included allowance. They are only available when:
- Your gym license is active, and
- You are in platform mode (BYOK disabled)
To purchase:
- Open Configuration → Sessy AI → Buy query credits
- Choose a pack (+100, +500, or +2000 queries)
- Complete payment in Stripe Checkout (same customer as your gym license)
Credits are added automatically after payment. They do not expire while your license stays active.
3. Bring your own key from Opper (BYOK)
Use this when you want full control over models, regions, and Opper billing.
Setup steps
- Create an account and API key at platform.opper.ai
- In Opper, note the model slug you want (for example
azure/…for EU-hosted models) - In Sessy: Configuration → Sessy AI → Bring your own key from Opper
- Paste your Opper API key, enter the model slug, optionally adjust thinking level and max output tokens
- Tap Test connection, then Save and enable BYOK
Your API key is encrypted in Sessy storage. Inference requests are sent to Opper using your key — not Sessy’s platform key.
Model search
When Sessy can load models from Opper for your key, the model field offers search suggestions as you type. You can still enter any slug manually if your model is not listed.
Always test the connection after changing the model or thinking level.

4. Choosing a model — privacy and compliance
You are responsible for choosing models and providers that meet your gym’s policies and legal obligations (including GDPR and other local privacy and security rules).
Questions to answer before enabling BYOK or heavy AI use

| Retention and logs | Providers may retain requests, responses, or logs for abuse monitoring, billing, or support. Understand retention periods and whether you can disable or limit logging. |
| Data location | Where does the model provider process data? Prefer EU or other regions that match your members’ expectations and your DPA. |
| Sub-processors | Does Opper route to Azure, OpenAI, or other backends for the slug you chose? Read Opper’s and the underlying provider’s terms. |

Practical guidance
- Prefer EU-oriented model slugs (for example
azure/…) when members are in the EU and you want processing closer to home. - Use platform mode if you want a single Sessy-managed stack without managing Opper yourself.
- Use Limited MCP tokens (not BYOK) when external tools should not receive member data — see Connect AI agent.
- If unsure, speak with your privacy or legal advisor before connecting production member data.
Sessy does not certify any third-party model for your jurisdiction. Model availability and routing can change on Opper’s side without notice.
5. Thinking level and max output tokens
These settings only apply to BYOK in the Sessy app.
Thinking level (optional)
Default: Off. Leave thinking off unless you have a specific reason to enable it.

| Off (default) | Recommended for normal in-app use. Works best with Sessy’s tool-heavy assistant (booking, schedule, members). |
| Low / Medium / High | May improve reasoning on some models. Not all models support thinking with tools — you may see provider errors. If that happens, set thinking back to Off and test again. |
Max output tokens
Controls the maximum length of a single model reply. The default (4096) is suitable for most admin tasks. Very high values can increase cost and latency on your Opper account.
6. External access (MCP)
The External access (MCP) card in the same Sessy AI section is where you create agent tokens for Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible tools.
That path is separate from in-app query limits:
- Platform credits and BYOK apply to the in-app assistant only.
- MCP tokens apply to connecting external AI assistants and tools.

7. Included queries and purchased credits
In platform mode, your gym has two separate buckets for in-app assistant queries:

The Usage card shows both: how many included queries you have used this month, how many included queries remain, your purchased credit balance, and the total queries available (included remaining + purchased credits).
Which bucket is used first?
Included queries are always used first. Purchased credits are only deducted after you have used all included queries for the current month.
Example: if you have used 12 of 50 included queries this month and 800 purchased credits, every new query still draws from your remaining 38 included queries. Your purchased credits are saved until you exceed 50 queries in that month.
What counts as one query?
One successful assistant reply in the app counts as one query. Failed attempts (for example network errors or blocks before a reply is returned) do not consume queries.
When the month changes
On a new calendar month, your included allowance resets to 50 (or your plan’s configured amount). Purchased credits do not reset — any balance you still have carries forward.
When both are empty
If you have used all included queries and have no purchased credits left, the in-app assistant is blocked until the next month or until you buy more credits. You can also switch to BYOK or use external MCP access.
8. Rate and write limits (in-app)
The in-app assistant uses the same safety limits as MCP tokens, scoped per gym (not per user):

One batch action (for example scheduling a full recurring week or a bulk update) counts as one write.
If you hit a limit, wait a minute or try again later. For heavy automation, use external MCP access with a dedicated agent token.
