Roles

Maintain employee roles.

Roles introduction

Each user account has a role. Depending on the role, different access and actions are allowed. Sessy distinguishes three roles: Member, Employee, and Admin.

The Roles section on the Configuration page lists all accounts with an elevated role (Employee or Admin).

Member role

The default role for everyone who subscribes to your business. Members use the member space of the unified app: they can view your schedule, register for sessions included in their subscription, and manage their account. They do not have access to the admin space.

Employee role

Employees can use the member space and the admin space. In the admin space they can use:

  • Dashboard β€” personal notifications, checklists, and sessions (filter by employee at the bottom of the dashboard on desktop, or below the session list on mobile)
  • Member search β€” open any member’s detail sheet
  • Calendar β€” schedule sessions and manage registrations
  • Programming β€” session descriptions and workout programming
  • Communication β€” Info page message, push notifications, newsletters
  • Reports β€” members, results, sessions, and occupancy (Revenue tab is Admin only)
  • Revenue and Payments β€” view and manage financial data
  • Configuration β€” most setup sections (some items such as access devices/QR management are Admin only)

Admin role

Admins have everything Employees have, plus:

  • Member subscriptions β€” change member subscriptions in the member detail sheet
  • Reports β€” Revenue tab
  • Configuration β€” full access including roles, access devices, and license management
πŸ‘‰

Only assign Admin or Employee roles to people who need admin space access. Members should normally keep the Member role.

Add or change employee roles

In the Roles section on the Configuration page:

  • Add an employee role by clicking Add employee
  • Change a role using the drop-down on each employee row

When adding an employee, you can:

  • Search for a member
  • Select the role (choose Member to remove elevated access)
  • Choose a color for the employee (used in calendar and weekly schedule views)
  • Click Save, or Cancel to discard
πŸ‘‰

Choose a distinct color for each employee for a clear overview in the weekly schedule and calendar.
